Frequently asked

Is my identity truly hidden when I post anonymously?
Yes. When you check "Post anonymously," your name is replaced with "Anonymous User" for all other members. Your real identity is only visible to forum admins — and even admins need to explicitly click "View identity" to see it.
Can recovery agents or banks see my questions?
Forum topics are publicly visible, but anonymous posts don't reveal your name, email, or any personal details. Avoid sharing account numbers or loan IDs in public posts.
Is SingleDebt a bank or a lender?
No. SingleDebt is a debt resolution consultancy — we help individuals negotiate with banks and lenders on their behalf. We are not a bank, NBFC, or lender.
What if a recovery agent is harassing me?
Post in the Legal Know-How category. RBI guidelines prohibit harassment, threats, and calls outside 8am–7pm. Our community can help you understand your rights and draft a complaint to the RBI Ombudsman.
Can I negotiate my loan directly with a bank?
Yes. Banks are often open to OTS offers, especially for accounts in default for over 90 days. The Debt Solutions category has real examples from members who've successfully negotiated settlements.
Is this forum free to use?
Always. The #DebtFreeIndia forum is and will remain completely free. No premium tiers, no paid advice, no upsells.
